PHILLIPS IS BURNING!
On July 27, 1894 Phillips, WI was destroyed by a fast moving forest fire. In 1994 the book "Phillips Fire Centennial, 1894 - 1994" was published. The original, hard copy book, although out of print, is still available for purchase through Hiway 13 North. Purchase information can be found on web site.

On its way north from its start at I-90 in Wisconsin Dells Hwy 13 passes through the following counties: Sauk, Adams, Wood, Marathon, Taylor, Price, Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas where it ends in an intersection with Hwy 53 just outside of Superior.


Cities and towns you pass through are: Wisconsin Dells, Plainville, Adams/Friendship, Cottonville, Big Flats, Rome, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, Spencer, Unity, Colby, Abbotsford, Stetsonville, Medford, Chelsea, , , Park Falls, Butternut, Glidden, Mellen, Highbridge, Marengo, Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Cornucopia, Herbster, and Port Wing.


In addition to the towns and cities directly on Hwy 13 there are numerous worthwhile side trips to be taken along the way, for example the in Neillsville, WI, about 35 miles west of Hwy 13 on Hwy 10.
